Empowering Confidence Through Speech and Drama

At Lorna Whiston Schools, we harness the power of Speech and Drama as a multifaceted learning tool.

Our Speech and Drama programme engages students emotionally, physically, intellectually, and socially, providing them with the skills to become articulate and confident communicators. Through Speech and Drama, students gain mastery over their voice and body language, enabling them to adapt to various environments and audiences with ease.

SPEECH AND DRAMA HIGHLIGHTS

SPEECH AND DRAMA AS A TOOL FOR LEARNING

At Lorna Whiston Schools, Speech and Drama is harnessed as a tool for learning as it involves the students emotionally, physically, intellectually and socially. Often, students struggle with communicating confidently because they are uncomfortable with the situation, the space they are in, the audience and perhaps even the sound of their voice. Nerves get the better of every public speaker or performer who does not feel in control of themselves or their environment.

Speech and Drama offers the opportunity for students to gain awareness and mastery over the use of their bodies and voice.

Over time, students learn to adapt to the physical environment that they are in to become more confident communicators.
